Cloud servers in the US and Japan

Your own server, running where your visitors are.

Tell us whether your visitors are in the US or in Japan. We build the server on a cloud that fits, install and license cPanel and WHM, secure it, and hand it over working, usually within the hour.

Before you move a site

Six things that go wrong, and what we do about each.

Moving a live website is hard to undo. These are the worries we hear most, answered plainly.

“The move will break my site.”

We help you move it, and your current site stays up while the new server is built and tested. You switch only when it works.

“I’ll be left alone with a raw Linux box.”

It arrives with cPanel and WHM installed and licensed, ready for your sites. You choose how much of the server we look after.

“The bill won’t match the page.”

One monthly price for your server size, shown before you order, plus a one-time $30.00 setup fee.

“Support will vanish when I need it.”

The team that builds your server supports it. Semi-Managed and Fully Managed add monitoring and break/fix when something goes wrong.

“I’ll be locked in.”

It is your server, with root access. It runs standard cPanel and WHM, so your accounts move with cPanel’s own transfer tools.

“It will get hacked and nobody will notice.”

We keep the machine, the network, and the security software healthy from the day it is handed over.

Parts or assembled

A cloud provider sells you a server. A working site needs five things.

Buying a server straight from a cloud covers the first row. The other four quietly become your job.

Frequently asked questions

Should my server be in the US or in Japan?

Put it where most of your visitors are, because distance adds delay to every page they load. Visitors in Japan are best served from Tokyo; visitors in North America from a US region.

Which cloud should I choose?

If your visitors are in Japan, start with Sakura Cloud, because the server and its operator are in Japan. In the US, start with Vultr, because it is our fastest recorded build and the lowest starting price. Choose AWS when you need extra dedicated IPv4 addresses.

Do I need a whole server, or is shared hosting enough?

Shared hosting is enough for one site or a handful that do not need root access or custom software. Move to your own server when you hit resource limits or need software a shared account cannot run.

Can I run WordPress on a server in Japan?

Yes. Choose Sakura Cloud or Google Cloud in Tokyo. The server comes with cPanel and WHM, and WordPress Toolkit, included with cPanel, installs and updates your WordPress sites.

I only need email for my domain. Do I need a website plan?

No. Email hosting plans run your domain’s mailboxes on their own, without a website.

I was an OCS customer. Where is my account?

At the WebHostingM customer portal, with the same account details.

Who sells and supports these plans?

WebHostingM. Every order link goes to the WebHostingM store, and the same team supports what you buy.
